The Pink city was once ruled by Rajput Kings and you can find number of Royal forts over here with excellent architecture. Most of the buildings were painted in terracotta pinks, so the city got name as ?Pink city?. The city was found by Rajput ruler Jai Singh ll and there are UNESCO heritage sites, historic museums, National Parks, typical villages, gardens and many more to explore.

1. Amber Palace

This is the prominent landmark of Hyderabad. It is situated on a hilltop of the town, Amer. The stunning architecture itself makes this palace a famous one, situated on the banks of Maota Lake. Red and white sand stones are used for its construction and it has large ramparts, cobbled paths, gardens, mirrored ceilings and number of gates and has the influence of Mughal architecture in its design. This is included in the list of UNESCO World heritage list and a must visit attraction of Jaipur.

This palace was constructed by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II; you would be surprise by seeing the brilliance of architecture in those days with the blend of Mughal and Rajput styles. There is a historical museum which gives you the historical facts about this fort and Jaipur, it has beautiful gardens, courtyards, Chandra Mahal Palace- the Royal residence etc.

4. Sisodiya Rani Ka Bagh

This is a garden palace built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1728 for his second wife, Sisodiya Rani. This is a perfect spot for relaxing some moments with your family. This garden is surrounded by natural beauty and consists of water fountains, water channels, rich flora, flower beds, pavilions, murals, galleries etc. The Indian and Mughal architecture styles were used in garden design.

5. Sariska National Park

This was a famous Royal hunting place in Jaipur and later declared as a wildlife sanctuary of Indian Government. It spreads over 800sq. kilometre and a home to variety of species like Bengal tiger, Sambhar deer, boars, stripped hyena, crocodiles, bird species etc. Siliserh Lake and Jai Samand Lake are other natural things you can enjoy. This is a popular bird watching and safari destination in Jaipur.

6. Abhaneri Step Well

Abhaneri is a small village in Jaipur where you can find a step well of 9th century built by King Raja Chand of Gurjar Kingdom. Step well here is called as Chand Baori and this is considered as the largest step well India with the capacity to preserve rainwater in 20m deep with different levels. The geometric step patterns and step carvings shows us the brilliant architecture of ancient periods.

7. Hawa Mahal Palace

This is a pink palace, red and pink sand stones are the reasons to call so. It is located at the centre of Jaipur city and ?Hawa Mahal? means ?Palace of winds? because it has 953 balconies so that every time wind passes through this palace. It was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh for Royal women. It has 5 floors and looks like a beehive and this is designed by Lal Chand Ustad, a renowned architect of Jaipur.

8. Jantar Mantar

This is a UNESCO World Heritage site in Jaipur, built by Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh II. This is very popular for its 19 large astronomical instruments. The instruments are made with stone and serve the purpose of seeing astronomical positions with naked eye. You can find the World?s largest stone sundial over here.

9. Jal Mahal

This water Palace is situated in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. Rajput style of architecture were used for construction and was built by Maharaja Madho Singh I and the most interesting fact is out of five floors, four floors are under water and only one floor is exposed.

10. Jaigarh Fort

This Fort is situated on Aravalli ranges and surprise visitors with its stunning architecture. This Fort was built in 1726 by Jai Singh II inorder to protect Amer Fort and its Palace complex. The rain water harvesting system, wall carvings etc are worth to watch. Another highlight of this fort is the large Jaivana Canon and a military museum.
