Thunder Hole is a small inlet made from natural rock carvings where waves roll into these rocks with a roaring sound. The reason is behind this sound is , just beneath the surface of the water there is a small cavern formed and when the waves arrives it collapsed with the air and makes the sound of a thunder. The water then splash into the air with the height of 40m.

This is the most beautiful Lake in this National Park and situated on the Western side of Mount Desert Island. This is a fresh water lake where you are allowed swimming. The water depth here is maximum of 66ft. This is a perfect spot for families especially for kids to enjoy.

While visiting the wild gardens in Acadia National Park, you will be able to see the typical habitats of Mount Desert Island. There are nine display area of plants with a number of more than 300 species and are properly labelled for identification. This is the most challenging and thrilling trials in Acadia National Park. Only experiences hikes are advisable to do hiking over here. This is located on the east side of Champlain Mountain. The Park will be closed during spring through mid-August due to the returning and endangered peregrine falcons that nest here so check with the National Park Service on this.
