2. The Peter & Paul Fortress

This fortress is a landmark of St. Petersburg where the city originated. This was also built by great Tsar Peter in 1703. The bell tower in this cathedral is the highest building in St. Petersburg. It has great significance in the Russian revolution and was used as a prison by the Bolshevik government. This is the burial place of all Russian tsars from Peter I to Alexander III. Today this is a part of the St Petersburg Museum of History.
3. Hermitage Museum
