SRI MUTHUMARI AMMAN DEVASTHANAM was built by Tamil Viswakarmajar community atPazhaya Palatheruvil (Thaliyal Road) near Karamana, in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. Variety of cultural heritages, natural beauty and holiness of Karamana river originating form the Agasthya Hill- where great sage Agasthya had done meditation- had added grace to the place. It is also the main centre of commodity trades, jewelry business, building works etc long time back. SRI MUTHUMARI AMMAN DEVASTHANAM old temple has a long back history that can be linked to the golden chapters of THIRUVITHAMCORE. The eminent Shilpies (Viswakarmas) invited by the then Maharaja of Travancore for the building works at Ananda Padmanabha Swami Temple.These Viswakarmas stayed at Karamana and for paying obeisance to their own deity they built small temples nearby. SRI MUTHUMARI AMMAN DEVASTHANAM was one of the most ancient and prominent one among those temples. There are many stories and miracles about the temple transmitted from generation to generation.
