Moozhikulam Sri Lakshmana Perumal Temple which is believed to be 5000 yrs old is like an Oasis in a desert, satiating the spiritual hunger of devotees. The Main Idol of Worship is Lord Lakshmana. It was known from ancient letters that the rule for Temple Administration was made here.It was later come to know as "Moozhikulam Kacham". This was supposed to be of 9th Century. "Shasanas' written in "Vattezhuthu" have the story of more than 800 yrs to say. This is the only Temple where we can see Lord Lakshmana with his wife. Now a days this Temple is very famous as it is being one among the four Temples (Nalambalam) to be visited in the month of "Karkkidakam" for worship.
