About Suryanarayana Temple:

Sree Suryanarayana Kshetram (temple) is one of the oldest and the second largest Surya temple after Konark. It is situated in a village called Kadirur in Thalaserry Thaluk. Kadirur is the shortened form of ‰ÛÏKadiravanur" in Malayalam which means ‰ÛÏThe Land of Sree Suryanarayana". Kadirur is located about 8 kms from Thalaserry on Thalaserry Coorg road.The temple originated during the 13th century and the Prathista day is observed to be in the Medam month on the Rohini Nakstram (star) day.
